Primary Responsibilities

 

  • In collaboration with others, serve as a key point of contact for client inquiries, facilitating effective communication through video conferencing, telephone, and email.
  • Conduct thorough research and provide prompt, professional responses to client inquiries, maintaining a high level of service.
  • Serve in a key role running tax related functions.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and actively contribute to project-based initiatives.
  • Play a pivotal role as a subject matter expert, offering invaluable guidance and support to team accountants, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Act as a trusted resource, providing comprehensive expertise and mentorship to drive problem-solving efforts and guide department initiatives, fostering a collaborative and proactive environment focused on continuous improvement and achieving strategic goals.
  • Collaborate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review and analyze general ledger accounts, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of operational data to ensure accuracy and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze existing processes and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

 

Knowledge and Skills

 

  • Highly proficient in utilizing Excel for financial analysis and data manipulation.
  • Experience with any of the following is required: SQL, MS Power Platform, Power Query, VBA, Python, or relational databases. Proficiency with other automation applications/techniques not listed will also be considered.
  • Candidates with data skills beyond Excel will be prioritized.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic environment, emphasizing accuracy and timeliness.

 

Experience and Education

 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a business degree with a focus on accounting or finance required. Post graduate education preferred.
  • CPA certification is strongly preferred.
  • Big 4 or major regional firm experience preferred.
  • Public accounting candidates: 3-5 years.
  • Industry candidates: 4-7 years.
  • Successful candidates should have a proven track record of progressively increasing levels of responsibility throughout their professional career.
