Position Summary

Seeking a senior-level NetOps Programmer to solve complex technical challenges, contribute innovative ideas, and collaborate with highly skilled technical teams.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related discipline (advanced degrees may offset experience requirements)
  • 5–7 years of hands-on scripting experience with Python or Perl
  • 5+ years as a Network Engineer with a focus on network performance and monitoring
  • Extensive background with Broadcom/SMARTS, including several years implementing and configuring the tool
  • Strong understanding of NetOps practices
  • 4+ years working in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8)

Core Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced Perl and Python scripting
  • Experience developing within enterprise Java environments (e.g., JSF, EJB, Java-based AJAX frameworks)
  • Deep expertise with Broadcom Service Assurance (SMARTS)
  • Solid knowledge of TCP/IP and Linux administration
  • Familiarity with Broadcom NetOps monitoring platforms
  • Experience with VMware administration
  • Ability to build network diagrams (Visio) and maintain project plans (MS Project)
  • Capable of producing high-quality technical documentation

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced programming in Perl, Python, and Java
  • Experience with JBoss EAP
  • MySQL database experience
  • Knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, or similar version control systems
  • ServiceNow development exposure
  • Background creating scripts, documentation, and project plans to support network performance initiatives
  • Prior experience supporting federal environments
  • Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing shifting priorities
  • Experience participating in Agile/Scrum ceremonies

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years total experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (mandatory for this role)
