Position: Security Architect

Overview

The Security Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security systems to protect enterprise networks, applications, and data. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and a current understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and emerging threats.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement security architecture and controls across systems and networks.
• Define and document system security requirements in alignment with frameworks such as NIST CSFv2, HIPAA, HITECH, and NY DFS.
• Monitor and assess security solutions to ensure ongoing protection of information assets.
• Lead threat-hunting and vulnerability assessment activities; develop and execute mitigation strategies.
• Conduct annual cybersecurity risk assessments, HIPAA reviews, and penetration testing.
• Develop and maintain the Cybersecurity Incident Response Program and coordinate incident mitigation efforts.
• Research and report on emerging security threats, trends, and technologies.
• Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, recommendations, and security posture improvements.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to technical teams and stakeholders on cybersecurity best practices.
• Present regular updates and metrics to IT leadership on security initiatives and control effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise security systems.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GCIH, or ECSA preferred.
